 Motoring

I've spent more than 35 years writing about cars, attending new model launches across the globe. My current major outlet involves news, road tests and features for TheCarExpert.co.uk and its sister site TheVanExpert.co.uk. I also contribute occasionally to Motor Trader and Fleet World, and I provide editorial, sub-editing and proofreading duties for the highly respected book publisher Porter Press International.

 Motorsport

I've been writing about racing cars even longer than I have road cars. I speciaiise in Touring Cars and US motorsport, particularly NASCAR. I have produced award-winning features for Race Tech over many years and have also  supplied copy to Professional Motorsport World magazine and sister titles. I was also Honda's media representative in the British Touring Car Championship during the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Rail/Miniature Engineering

I have had a lifelong passion for trains, particularly of the smaller variety. Since 2009 I have edited and designed the specialist newstand magazine Narrow Gauge World and I wrote the Steam Locomotive Driver's Manual, published by Haynes. Between 2018 and 2024 I edited and designed Engineering in Miniature magazine. I also occasionally contribute to Steam Railway magazine.

 Blog/Social Media

I'm on Facebook on which I post almost daily, LinkedIn and Instagram (the links are below). The most recent addition is my Instagram feed andrewcstracksidearchive, adding regular pictures and insights from my many years photographing and writing about motorsport, particularly my decade at Brands Hatch in the 1980s – a website is planned if I ever slow down long enough to create it....

I am often available for new freelance commissions – use the contact button at the top of the page to get in touch.
